‘The profound inertia of Human Thought’ is the number one enemy in our progress as a society’, according to author and educator John Mighton, founder of JUMP Math. He sums it up beautifully in this quote – “When an entire society believes something is impossible, it suppresses, by it’s very way of life, the evidence that would contradict that belief.” If you’re an educator, teacher, professor or someone who’s interested in the fulfillment of human potential, I think John’s 12 minute TED talk is a must watch.

Wishing you all a fantastic year ahead. I have always believed that we can change the quality of our lives by changing the quality of the questions we ask ourselves. Questions which are directed internally which presuppose that we are in-charge of our life and not helpless bystanders; versus questions which are directed externally which presuppose that someone else is in a position of power to help us solve the mysteries of our life. I urge you to watch this inspirational video. It conveys a profound message on how to change our perception by changing the questions that we ask ourselves. What a great way to start the New Year! Thanks to everyone for your consistent support through the years gone by and I hope you are looking forward to 2015 with the same excitement and eagerness that I am. Stay blessed!

As a motivational speaker and a life coach, I’ve always shared with my audiences that who we are is the sum total of the small, minuscule, seemingly insignificant daily choices and habits. And in order to design a different life, we must start by changing our habits.
According to the research highlighted in this infographic, if you set goals (written and shared with others), read voraciously and diversely; think about thinking; be self disciplined and get proper sleep, you would be following the footsteps (or rather the habits) of the most successful people ever.
But what you also need is the motivation and commitment to stay away from the pitfalls that intelligent people tend to fall in. Here they are – Excessive drinks, drugs and anxiety.
Use this list as a starting point and then create one of your own too. After all, as Carl Jung put, “The shoe that fits one person pinches another. There is no universal recipe for living.”

Research proves that email and electronic communication erode trust and the most effective way to communicate is face-to-face. But that seems to be largely a relic of the past now. In almost every motivational talk that I give or every leadership session that I conduct, I stress the need for connection. Not the Wi-Fi connection but the Human Connection. This inspiring video by Gary Turk has a very powerful message for you – Get off your PC or your smartphone and go and experience the world. You only live once, so enjoy every moment of it. Life does not have to be lived for the approval or applause of others on Facebook and social media. Enjoy and do share this video with your friend

During my Executive Coaching Sessions and Youth Motivational Workshops, I’ve often been asked ‘why is that when I do my best I’m given more work to do? Why is a job well done rewarded with even more work and responsibility?’; ‘Why doesn’t the boss confront the slackers instead of asking me to do their part?’ etc.
I think I found an answer to those questions hidden in this short story. Enjoy!
